This page is for users of the The Lohanas mobile app, published by The Lohanas on Google Play. It explains how to request (1) full account deletion with associated personal data, or (2) deletion of specific data while keeping your account. For general privacy practices, see our Privacy Policy.
Request account & data deletion
Use this for Google Play “Delete account” when you want your account removed entirely.
- Open The Lohanas on your device and sign in with the account you want removed.
- Email support@thelohanas.com from the same address linked to your account, or use the button below. Subject line: “Account deletion request”.
- Include your registered email and, if available, your user ID from Profile → Settings so we can verify ownership.
- We will confirm your request by email. Account deletion is completed within 30 days unless law requires a shorter timeline.
- After deletion, you will not be able to sign in with that account. You may register again later as a new user if the App allows it.
Data deleted
- Account credentials and profile (name, email, phone if provided, photo, bio)
- Your posts, comments, reactions, and other community content attributed to you
- Family tree nodes and relationships you created or solely control
- Event, job, and business listings you submitted
- Push notification tokens and in-app notification preferences
- Usage and device identifiers tied to your account in our systems
Data kept
- Content that other members created or that is part of a shared Samaj record may remain in anonymized or de-identified form where removal would affect other users’ legitimate data
- Records we must keep for legal, tax, fraud prevention, or security obligations (e.g. transaction logs if payments apply, abuse reports)
- Aggregated analytics that cannot reasonably identify you
Retention period
Personal data is deleted or anonymized within 30 days of a verified request. Backup copies may take up to an additional 30 days to purge. Legal holds may extend retention only for the specific data and period required by law.
Request data deletion (keep your account)
Use this for Google Play “Delete data” when you want specific information removed without closing your account.
- Open The Lohanas and sign in.
- In the App, remove what you can directly: edit or delete your posts, update profile fields, turn off push notifications in device or App settings, and remove family-tree entries you added.
- For anything you cannot remove in the App, email support@thelohanas.com with subject “Data deletion request (keep account)”.
- List exactly what you want deleted (e.g. profile photo, one post, family tree branch, a job listing).
- We will confirm by email and complete eligible deletions within 30 days.
Data deleted
- Only the categories you specify, such as profile fields, selected posts or comments, media uploads, family-tree segments, or listings you own
- Associated copies in active databases for those items
Data kept
- Your account login and core membership unless you also request full account deletion above
- Data you did not ask to delete, data created by other members, and Samaj-wide content that is not solely yours
- Minimal security and audit logs (e.g. IP or device records from a deletion request) for fraud prevention
Retention period
Specified data is removed within 30 days of verification. Residual backups may take up to 30 more days to clear. We will tell you if any item cannot be deleted without affecting other members’ data.
